Doug Shipley, Member of Parliament for Barrie – Springwater – Oro-Medonte and Deputy Shadow Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion, issued the following statement today:
"I am honoured and humbled for the opportunity to serve as Deputy Shadow Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion in Canada's 44th Parliament.
Canada is facing a housing crisis, and the effects of that crisis are prevalent throughout Barrie – Springwater – Oro-Medonte and across the country. Housing is becoming unaffordable for renters and buyers alike.
Multiculturalism and inclusion are pillars of Canada. Canada must protect our diversity and ensure equal treatment for all that respects and celebrates that diversity.
I look forward to working with Shadow Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion Matt Jeneroux on this important file. Together, we will work tirelessly to hold the Trudeau Liberals to account on behalf of Canadians.
I share my sincere thanks and gratitude to Erin O'Toole, Leader of Canada's Conservatives, for placing his trust and support in me with this appointment."
