MP Shipley selected as nominating partner for the King Charles III Coronation Medal Program

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 24th 2024 – Doug Shipley, Member of Parliament for Barrie–Springwater–Oro-Medonte, is proud to have been selected as both recipient and nominating partner for the King Charles III Coronation Medal. 

“I am honoured to have been selected as a nominating partner for the King Charles III Coronation Medal Program” said MP Shipley. “The program has received great interest and there have been a number of inquiries from community members eager to nominate a deserving friend, neighbour, or colleague. I am humbled to stand among so many worthy members of the community here in Barrie–Springwater–Oro-Medonte.”

To be eligible for this honour, a person must have made a significant contribution to the country, a province, territory, region, or community, or made an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada. And must have been alive on May 6th, 2023, the date of His Majesty’s Coronation. Nominations can be made posthumously if the nominee was alive on that date.

  1. Nominations can be made in person at 104-48 Alliance Blvd., Barrie or can be made by email to [email protected] with the subject line King Charles III Coronation Medal Nomination + Nominee Name
  2. Only completed nominations will be considered and must include the nominator's first and last name, phone number with area code and email address
  3. Please detail the full legal name of the person you are nominating, including any middle names, date of birth, complete residential address including postal code, phone number including area code, and email address. You must include a brief explanation of why you are making this nomination (up to 250 words). And you must indicate the field of endeavour from the following list:

Nominations will be accepted until 2pm August 30th 2024.  Recipients will be notified and details of an awards celebration will be released at a later date.
